Distinctive leaves for your houseplant collection.
Mickey Mouse has very interesting distorted leaf shape with white, yellow and green contrasts. Goes dormant in winter, but comes back, double in size.
They are easy to grow members of the Aroid family which also includes Alocasias and Philodendrons.
The leaves are variegated and can be oddly shaped when young, tips of the leaves form a cup with a 'tail'. They can reach 1.5mtr high but usual height is around 1mtr or so. It ideally likes a bright shady frost free position with regular watering. It will grow in heavier shade but colours up better in a bright position.
In warmer climates, it is evergreen but in cooler areas will die back but re-grows when the weather warms up.
The plant you will receive will be a healthy young established plant around 20-30cm tall.
Scientific name: Xanthosoma sagittifolium (L.) Schott 'Albomarginata'.
Height: 80-120 cm.
Stem: underground tubers like taro.
Leaves: heart-shaped, but often distorted. Blade width of 30 centimeters green leaves with white stripes spotted sporadically.
Flower: inflorescence leaf out of the niche. A bunch gradually reduced with clams Flowering cabbage slender yellow bract color yellow.
The plant will be shipped bare rooted, wrapped in sphagnum moss, surrounded in bubble wrap and taped securely to minimize movement during transit. Please note that some damage can occur during transit on occasions, despite our best efforts to package our plants ready for travel. We hope you understand if that does by chance occur.
